Brasenose members are invited to join us for a Celebration of English at Brasenose on Saturday 7th May 2011. This is a wonderful opportunity for current and former English students to meet, share their enthusiasm and experience, catch up with old friends – and maybe make new ones. We hope to make it a thoroughly enjoyable and stimulating day, and we would love to see you here.
Our timetable for the day is as follows:
12pm - Talk by Dr Bernard Richards (English Fellow, 1972-1995) on ‘Faking Literature’
1pm - Lunch in Hall (£35 a head for 3 courses plus wine)
2.15pm - Talk by Dr Sos Eltis (English Fellow, 1997 – present) ‘Women and Sex on stage from 1800’
3pm-4.30pm – Talks by former BNC English students on where they are and how they got there
4.30pm – Coffee
5pm – Talk by Dr Simon Palfrey (English Fellow, 2005 – present) on his current project
The Faerie Queen Now!, including performance from the associated play.
6pm onwards – English Drinks (£10 a head)
We do hope you will be able to join us for what will be a stimulating and entertaining day. We would love to see you for the whole day, but you are also very welcome to join us for any part of the day you fancy.

Booking Information
You will receive confirmation of your booking by email or post. Your name will be reserved but tickets will not be sent. If we reach capacity you will be contacted and given the opportunity to go on a waiting list. If you do not receive confirmation of your booking please contact the Alumni Relations & Development Office on 01865 287275 or email development.office@bnc.ox.ac.uk.
Due to the limited number of places we do kindly ask that you inform us if you need to cancel your booking. We regret that refunds will not be issued within two weeks of the event unless we are able to fill your place.
We do not have parking facilities at the College but please see the website or call 01865 287275 and we will be happy to provide information on car parking and bus routes into Oxford.
